Hi, I am planning to get an iPhone from the Apple Store soon. Just want to know which version of the iphone do I get if I just walk in and buy the phone. I see people posting that V1.11 or V1.12. Of course I want the latest version of software..Will I get the V1.12 ?

Does it really matter which version it is? since you could always upgrade thru itunes. it will matter if you'r planning to unlock the phone, if so than get the 1.11 which i believe is unclockable, not to sure about the v.12 sine it got released recently.
